Stitch Calf, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a cheerful cartoon calf with big blue eyes and a pink nose, peeping out of a flowery meadow, worked in bold, simple blocks of colour on 14-count Aida. A tiny first project for children and beginners.

A little stitcher's folklore: a calf born in spring was said to bring a lucky year to the whole farm.

Why this kit: a perfect first cross stitch: small, only 8 colours and big 14-count squares that are easy to see and count.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Madeira stranded cotton threads in 8 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the face and eyes first, then the brown body, and finish with the grass and flowers using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 9×9.5 cm (3.5×3.7 in). A sweet mini picture for a card or small frame, and a great first kit for young stitchers.
